Project Aahar's main aim is to eliminate the role and function of the middlemen and to directly connect the farmer communities to the consumers. This leads to increase in the profit of the farmers and also, consumers get fresh vegetables at considerably lower rates.
Moving from the conventional techniques of agriculture, we are helping farmers to shift to a new form, that is “Hydroponics”, which is growing plants without soil, instead using a nutrient-rich solution to deliver water and minerals to their roots. By applying a nutrient solution directly to a plant’s roots in a controlled environment, a farmer can ensure that the plant always has an optimal supply of water and nutrients. This nutritional efficiency makes the plant more productive, thus increase farming outputs and grow plants in habitats that wouldn’t normally sustain them!
Project Aahar mainly focusses on increasing the profit of the farmers, and ultimately empower the farmers in our country. increasing the yield is a way of gaining profit, and our team members researched on hydroponic farming, which has a huge potentiial and seen as the future of agriculture. we have invented a new method of hydroponics, and gave those setups to the farmer community on microloans. the farmers would be keeping the profits earned from the yield. our project's motive is to expand hydroponic farming and also, look for communities who can manufacture these setups and earn a living, thus creating an entrepreur.s
It uses only 1/20th of water compared to traditional (soil based) gardening. It provides a sterile environment for plant production. This technique does not require pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals, as there’s no chance of damage due to soil-borne diseases or pests.Crops grow two times faster in hydroponic gardening. It provides controlled environment, and yield is doubled leading to more production from same amount of space.
